I'm no fancy schmancy gal so if you've been looking for an authentic, no-fluff, Italian restaurant.. this is your place! Ever since my husband Alex and I visited Italy back in 2017, we've been on a mission to find something similar locally. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 toddlers and a baby) came in for dinner tonight on a Saturday evening and was seated right away. We opted to sit inside. The owner who's from Naples, and the server were both super kind and accommodating. Definitely a family friendly restaurant! They brought us some fresh homemade bread on the house, which my young kids enjoyed. We ordered the Pizza Primavera and the Fettucine Allo Scoglio. Both were delicious! The pizza was crispy and toppings were generous. The fettuccine was yummy too, with lots of seafood. We also ordered some desserts: tiramisu, gelato and they gave us some panna cotta sampler to try. Tiramisu was so good and similar to the one we had in Florence-- it's not like the American tiramisu which is cakey.. this is more of a pudding and closest to what we had in Italy. Gelato was great! Panna cotta was super creamy and delicious too. All the desserts we ordered were made in-house, except the gelato was made by the owner's friend in Berkeley. If you're used to Italian American cooking/seasoning with tons of toppings with a pretty heavy/greasy feel, then you might think the food here is bland or boring, but we enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the simplicity of the pizza. We will definitely come back again! Grazie Francesco for your hospitality and making our family feel welcomed :)

My boyfriend and I were craving pasta and we were looking on Yelp for some recommendations in the area. Taverna was first in the list on Yelp. Upon arrival, we were greeted right away and sat down. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. The owner of the restaurant served us and I must say, his customer service is top notch. Since it was our first time, he offered an on the house appetizer and a dessert. He also recommended Italian soda. My boyfriend and I got the bloody orange and chinotto Italian sodas. They were so good. The food tastes so authentic and amazing as well. We will definitely be coming back to try out more foods on the menu and bring our friends & family here.

My family and I came here for our first time on Saturday night for dinner. The ambiance was nice and the service was great! The owner also came out to help us with items and he was very friendly. I tried to do the yelp checkin and it offered a free non alcoholic sparkling wine, but they didn't have that (a bit disappointing) so they offered to give us a free special item which was potato croquettes with a sauce and it was really good. They also gave us bread which was delicious, but they didn't end up giving us more even though we asked for it. We ordered two pastas and a pizza to all share and it was good portions (we had leftovers too!). Everything tasted so delicious and had a good amount of flavoring - we loved the pizza most. We decided on panna cotta for dessert and they gave us another one on the house - it was so yummy! It definitely was a bit pricey, but since that's usually standard for Italian we still enjoyed.

Taverna Vesuvio was a really great lunch for me! We tried their ravioli from the restaurant week menu, arancini, and panna cotta. Also had bread with olive oil and vinegar while waiting for our food. The sauce for the spinach and cheese ravioli was excellent, "fall asleep after" excellent. And there was onion and mushrooms in the sauce, making it a whole meal. The arancini was great, it felt very authentic and I enjoyed the sauce and peas inside them. The outside was nice and crispy, and the sauce that came with them had a satisfying roasted tomato flavor. Now for the BREAD -- They make their own bread in house here, and it was delightfully warm and soft, with a thin crispy crust. They nailed it. I could have eaten it with olive oil and vinegar for my whole meal. . The panna cotta is a nice sister as well. It was soft and sweet and had sweet blueberry and syrup on top of it. The service here was kind and friendly, and pretty fast. We never had to wait long for anything, on a Sunday at lunchtime. It was a medium-busy day. Levy, who served us, was wonderful and made sure our food came out at the same time (he asked us if we wanted same-time or appetizers first), and fresh. Francesco, the chef, served up some amazing lunch. Thank you, Taverna Vesuvio team! Next time I go, I am going to have to try their pizza! It looked and smelled so good when I saw it being ordered at the restaurant. It looks like the real Italian style pizza as well.

This was my second stop of the Fremont restaurant week tour. This restaurant serves Italian food and cooked up some unique dishes for the restaurant week special. Arancini Siciliana (5/5): This fried rice ball with mozzarella and bolognese is served in two pieces. It was crispy and crunchy on the outside and the filling was so flavorful. Fettuccine Allo Scoglio (5/5): This pasta dishes is marinated with marinara or vodka sauce. It includes squid, mussels, shrimp, clams, and octopus. The seafood definitely blended very well with the sauce. Mare in Tavola (5/5): This dish definitely caught my eye because it was blue. It comes with four pieces of lobster ravioli. On top of the ravioli was a seafood melody including an octopus tentacle. The blue sauce was a bit watery, but flavorful as it tasted like oil. I'm happy I tried this place out!

Just opened up 2 months ago. The staff is super friendly here! Treat this place more of a restaurant rather than a pizza joint. They are in the process of getting their liquor license. The cook is originally from Italy. We ordered fried shrimp and calimari, 2 pizzas, eggplant parmesan, a cannoli, and a tiramisu. The pizza (regular spicy sub chicken and the 4cheese) were pretty good. These were made to order so it a took a while but it's pretty worth the wait. The cannoli was close to what you get in the East Coast and the tiramisu is pretty good. Overall experience is enjoyable and a great place to chill with your friends.

Yum. Yum. Yum. We are so lucky to have a much needed Italian restaurant so close to home. The owners are from Italy and Spain. The chef is legit from Napoli. This isn't your regular Italian restaurant. Their pizzas follow the Neopolitan style of preparation. Fresh and simple ingredients atop a thin and crispy crust. You can taste the love with every bite! Our group had several dishes. Some of the highlights: Antipasto: beautifully grilled veges splashed with olive oil. The artichoke was delicious. Calamari fritti: lightly crispy squid and shrimp. Definitely get this. Fettuccine carbonara: they ran out of spaghetti so they subbed with fettuccine instead. The guanciale added such a savory mouthfeel to the silky sauce. If you like carbonara, this will your curb craving. Fettuccini allo scoglio: everyone enjoyed this one. Tomato based sauce with loads of seafood including a large piece of octopus. Absolutely delicious! Pizzas: -Campagnola: the salsiccia is so deliciously savory and the San Marzano tomatoes along with the other ingredients meld well together. -Primavera: the cheeses give this pizza such a buttery flavor. Love the salty bite from the prosciutto. Thank you, Jesus and Francesco for a lovely dinner. We will definitely be back!

Finally a great pasta spot in Fremont! This place always has friendly service and feels homey. The food is always made to order and everything is great from the pasta to the pizza to the desserts. I really like the penne casa mia and the spaghetti carbonara. The noodles are super al dente and the sauce is rich but not heavy. The tiramisu and espresso are fantastic! Definitely worth checking out :)
